PS4?

With that mysterious playstation even happening tomorrow(more like later today), I should share my two cents before ps4 gets announce and I lost bragging rights to spot on predictions =D.

So let me start with my pessimistic guess on whats going to happen. The entire event is spent showing move controllers compatibility with the vita. along with showing a prototype vita midlife face lift...w00t! and if we get lucky, they officially acknowledge that they are working on a next gen console.

Now, on to what I really think, or wish was true.
Originally, I was expecting sony to stick closer to their 10 year cycle. They dropped hints in interviews about wanting to just sit out the competition and see their specs. The truthfulness of these hints were backed by their silence and vagueness regarding the vita's future, echoing what really became of the vita... which is really not a lot... Then there's their lineup of first party games seeming to flow endlessly, hinting the ps3 still has some time left.
Aside from their PR being a source of evidence, the 10 year cycle really matched the dates of upcoming computer technology revolutions. With DDR4 ram just around the corner, it was just the start. GDDR6 seemed to be coming in a couple years. Nvidia is working on project Denver. This stuff isn't just the next faster version, it's a redisign to get around the limitations of current tech. Dropping a new console with the latest tech now would only have it fall behind PCs much faster than other years. Not to mention SSDs have just dropped past $1/GB, which is still rather expensive.
Most importantly we are getting new TV tech. There's 4k, 8k and OLED coming out, and there is no way current machines can run games to 4k's potential. Personally, I think 4k could end up as a secondary common resolution(like a replacement 720p) while 8k becomes the new real standard (like 1080p). Last E3 we saw tech demos from the latest game engines which looked amazing. Those things ran off of high end current computers(with some headroom), but also ran on current display tech. Imagine how crummy it would look if they were upscaled to 4k because next gen consoles could only run the current standard, which is 1080. On top of that fps is no longer a limitation with OLEDs, because iirc they can run at 10,000 fps...or something to that effect of ridiculousness, so people are going to want more frames in their games as well.

I was quite sure the rumors were wrong and I'm the smartest person in the world until this even was announced. Maybe that's what sony was going to do, until they realized what I think nintendo is up to.

(conspiracy theory) Basically nintendo sticks to a six year console cycle like they are minding their own business, while sony and microsoft tried to drag on this gen to make it to the next gen of computer tech. little did they know, that it was all part nintendo's plan, beginning from the gamecube. First, they had the weakest machine for two gens, making the competition disregard them as they could then sit out the console war. Then the wii u comes along, in the middle of what is technically only in the middle of said 10 year cycle of the other consoles. The wii u itself is made just to act as a two way bait. It could either make the competition think they are weaksauce and try to sit them out again(while they start to win this halfway gen), or make them panic and move their schedule up. Either way, nintendo wins with that 6 year shcedule. They either get to drop another halfway gen again next time(if sony and ms speed up to compete), or they become the last to release a real next gen(if sony and ms decide to wait out their 10 years) while putting minimal effort in hardware to sit just slightly above the rest.

This is where my last prediction comes in. Looking at the timing of this event, sony realized nintendo's plan and decided to move their schedule to compete with them. In order for them to also win against the wii u and what becomes nintendo's next half gen upgrade they need to use their secret weapon. That weapon would be the rumored AMD cpu, combined the iirc the story of sony buying back a cell processor plan from toshiba  or someone like that. The AMD rumor is a bait to make ms finalize their specs thinking they are on the same page, and acts as a morale booster for devs and fanboys, thinking the cell is gone. The war is then won by outliving and outperforming  everyone and everything including high end PCs for the get go by using the cell processor. How that is used? There is a certain supercomputer that IBM built, using cells to do the hard work for the AMDs that they are connected to...while the AMD cpu go for a tea break or something. It's called the roadrunner, and it's a very efficient monster. With that out in the wild, packed in cases of game consoles, sony can sit on their hands and call it a day, for another 10 year cycle...or so I dream =D

On the off chance that this long winded conspiracy theory that nobody will ever read happens to be true, I errr... umm... idk what to say about it then lol. XD

anyway sleepy, cant type, no pics, nobody wants to read wall of text, etc

Riot Pls

One day I saw this.

A few days later i had an epiphanic dream and saw this

Two seconds in and I immediately awoke from the horror of this revelation.
That uncanny resemblance... I don't even.

btw, still alive

Fixed my laptop with a simple hdd repair program that fixed some bad sectors. the program itself seems bugged and hasn't run properly eversince...lmao. then my laptop went dumb again. somehow the disk check in windows solved it.
Took long enough(to find out I could have fixed it all along *facepalm*), but now my laptop is usable again.

Put a 500GB hybrid drive in my ps3. now has space and runs faster =). Worrying about whether stuff was backed up, whether gameshared licenses would transfer to new drive, and blasting out the boatload of dust with a compresser was far more a hassle than actually changing the drive. Everything transferred without even deactivating the system. just had to log on to each psn and deactivate and reactivate again.
The point is, new hdd doesnt count as a new dl, so there's no need to deactivate old one. Just need to reactivate so the system knows that the network knows it's a legit copy or something like that lolololol.

working through ps3 backlog and finished a couple hg kits. maybe i'll show in another post. totally out of the loop with anime. still watching, but not as fast as they come out. and I don't what the new or even current shows are anymore lololoololo.

oh and that playstation announcement on feb 20. gotta throw my theory about next gens out there before they are announced. loolololololl

dfficulties in computing...

my laptop is suffering from massive retardation...can't even  do anything properly anymore...

takes 1 hour to startup, resume, sleep, or hibernate. it also repeatedly freezes up for a few seconds to a minute, no matter what im doing. it's especially annoying when im trying to watch anime, or watch youtube... the audio stutters and loops all weird before freezing up. i think it's something wrong with the hdd cache. but that's just a very wild guess based on the hdd gadget on the sidebar showing me massive read/write spikes from flat line to ceiling and then back down, whenever it gets choppy, while the actual numbers are always at 0B/s.
on top of that the weather is getting hot, combined with my badly ventilated room, i dont even feel like doing anything on the computer these days...
(^weird white highlight that i dont even care to fix)

been playing ff13 on ps3 instead. everybody says it's a bad game and they they should have made a movie instead. i can see why, but i personally don't feel the same. i think as an FF game they might have dropped the ball, but as a story based single player game it's still entertaining overall. even though it's so fulled with cutscene, i dont think it could translate into a movie. i think they should've made a TV series of it with an accompanying novel series lol.
im not finished with it, but that's what i think of it so far. it's totally worth playing for the story imo...at least up to where i'm at XD

oh yes, and my compressor died before i got to paint with it...died spraying the dust from another computer
-_-

it all sounds kind of emo, not that i really feel that way.

here's a cool song for anyone that had nothing better to do and actually read all that junk ^

an original song by a vocaloid song writer for an awsome nico singer that sings in english. with new york accent =D

Sony strikes back?

a few weeks ago, i discovered that lbp karting was announced. i thought it was the coolest idea ever. even if it was just a rip of mario kart, the idea of using lbp as the theme is the best thing that could ever happen =D
honestly, it looks beautiful
Photobucket

its even gonna come with a kevin butler costume as pre-order bonus. you will literally be able to drive like a baus lollollololololololololol

Photobucket

anyways, yesterday i discovered another nintendo ripoff game was just announced. this time it's playstation all-stars battle royale. a clone of super smash bros

Photobucket

honestly, it looks so similar, i can't even call this a ripoff, or a clone game... it looks more like a skin mod

Photobucket

everything from the art style, controls, physics, HUD, interactive maps, items... it all looks the same
the one notable difference is the victory condition. rather than beating people off screen, or by a conventional hp bar, this game is going with a power meter build up that gives you instant killing supermoves. it will be the only way to kill someone... not sure i like that idea. the fun of knocking people away and seeing them bounce around as you build up damage in ssb was what made it so fun.

a second, not-as-important feature, is that each map, including the design, interactive elements, bgm, will not be based on a single game. instead it will be a mashup from two different games. it's an interesting way to pay homage to different games, but not so game changing.

nevertheless, im excited about what characters it might include.
so far revealed are:
kratos from god of war - personally, i don't like that game, so meh...lol
sly cooper - never played it, but he seems cool. apparently they took out his blocking ability and gave him invisibility instead
parappa the rapper - kick, punch, block...lmao only ever tried the demo, but i like him =D
fat princess - srsly?
sweet tooth - the crazy clown dude from twisted metal, which i know nothing about
radec from killzone - he's a memorable super difficult (at least on hard mode) final boss of an fps that's actually a normal person rather than giant machine or monster...but where is sev, the protagonist??

based on the few revealed maps, we have some other franchises that we know are included, and can easily guess what other characters might be present:
lbp/buzz - it would be a dumb idea for sackboy not to be playable...while buzz the trivia game show guy will probably remain as some background guy on the map
god of war/patapon - kratos is already in, patapon i dont think so...unless pikmin/olimar clone?
ratchet and clank/god of war - if ratchet and clank are not playable...then i don't even...
jak and daxter/some game i dont recall - jak and daxter were like the mascots of ps2...they're a given right?

of course that is not the entire roster. more will be revealed, and they have already promised third party characters will be included.

as per usual, everyone has their own whishlist for these things. here's mine - and some good ones that everyone wants:
crash banidcoot - from what i've seen, he's the most wanted, and with good reason. although he's not longer a playstation exclusive, he was a star when he was there
spyro - probably the second most wanted, same deal as above
jack mcready - i heard somebody suggested the male character from dead nation. honestly, i wouldnt think he deserves it, but if fat princess got in, and sony gave out millions of free copies of dead nation after they got hacked, it wouldnt be a surprise that he's there
lara croft - the tomb raider, she was a mascot for ps1, no?
solid snake - who doesnt know him, and where did he get famous?
sir daniel fortesque - the jawless skeleton knight you play as in medievil. one of my favourite games and characters of all time. he may not be as famous as he should be because sony let the franchise die off and then gave it a terrible psp remake, but he'll always have a special place in my gamer heart. =D i'd say, he'd be a pretty good link clone, if not better
samanosuke akechi - the guy from onimusha on the ps2. another one of my favs. capcom's feudal japan version of resident evil, except there's less scare and more fun. =D he'd totally play like marth and ike, but his swords could also let him swap movesets and playstyle like pokemon trainer
yoshimitsu - tekken was a pretty memorable franchise for playstation. so what candidate from it would be more unique and not just another hunk of muscle in a fighting game? obviously it's yoshimitsu. he's my favourite fighting game character, because he's got a very unique and recognizable style as well as being the goodest good guy there ever can be, especially his soul calibur incarnation =D.
nathan drake - uncharted is an obvious choice, no?
cole mcgrath - the infamous electric man, even more obvious choice for a brawler, no?
nathan hale - resistance, another obvious one
joseph capelli - moar resistance
emette graves - the starhawk dude, would make for a nice promo for both games lol
cloud strife - duh
sephiroth - like how can they not?
toro and kuro - playstation cats anyone? pair them up like ice climbers? lol

what else did i miss? admittedly i don't know every playstation game, but i tried...lol

a wipeout map would be a nice f-zero ripoff =D
a super stardust map would seem like a good idea, and would be beautiful.
these two maps have a chance since they were also given out after psn got hacked. super stardust delta is currently also psvita's flagship game, so i t makes sense to include it =D

i guess that's all for now... and nobody is really going to read all this...if anyone even comes by lolololololololololololololololololololooololololololololololololoolololol

ps maybe i'll explain why i think sony is striking back in a different post. it's not as simple as stealing a couple games from nintendo =)

Lost Planet is back - to the past!

Lost Planet 3 is set for early next year and will be a prequel to the first game.

it seems they have gotten a western developer to make the game and done away with the japanese style pretty boys, crisp but flaky graphics, awkward dialogue dubs, and the dramatic yet stiff body motions/animations. instead, it's become gritty and chunky with fluid animations and natural sounding dialogue. =D

apparently this time, it will be more story driven and focuses on the one main character, so there will not be story co-op. instead, they will reveal a new co-op and competitive multiplayer modes later on. it seems that instead of being missions and chapters, the story will be more of a hub and branching area exploration/survival kind of game where you have to collect upgrades and equipment to progress further.

mech piloting is back and although will be a more primitive unweaponized mining bot, it's much more massive and will feature first person piloting. i wonder how that will turn out. =D
one slight disappointmet i have is that the game seems to be excluding the grapple hook thing(think it was called anchor, but w/e), i hope i'm wrong because that thing made the game much more fun, and would be even more so if given quicker and more fluid mechanics.

so far, im liking all the changes, except for the story no longer being co-op. but if the co-op mode has splitscreen and has a lot of replay value, then i'll be content.

i love splitscreen co-op games with story and objectives, and there aren't enough of those around, especially with mechs and grapple hooks. lost planet 2 has a special place in my heart, despite the all the flaws it's got, it's tons of fun =D. im totally looking forward to this one =D

Calamity in the sky?!

who says calamity gundam can't fly in the atmosphere? it even has a flight mode!

this is what happens when you are too lazy to build your kits and get me to build them for you. it gets sloppily slapped together and doesn't get assembled properly =D
